Dive into the festive spirit, discover winter offerings, and join us in spreading warmth through our Holiday Food Drive.

2023 HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

Last year, we competed against the other Wards in the first annual Mayor's Food Drive Councillor's Challenge to raise awareness, funding and food for the Food Bank.

Altogether, we raised over $80,000 in food and funds!

The challenge is to see which Ward in Calgary can raise the most amount of food/funds for the Food Bank. Though Ward 10 was so close to winning, Ward 5 ended up raising the most and winning the competition!

From November 30 - December 10, we will be collecting donations at 7 different locations across Ward 10! Please view the poster below for details.

SNOW ANGELS

Snow Angels are individuals who lend a helping hand by shovelling a neighbour's sidewalk.

To be a Snow Angel, all you have to do is adopt a sidewalk and keep it clear when it snows. Watch for people in your neighbourhood who could use help removing snow and lend them a hand.

If you are a senior living on a lower fixed income, you could be eligible for the Seniors Services Home Maintenance (SSHM) program. Details can be found online: https://www.calgary.ca/social-services/seniors/home-maintenance.html

SIDEWALK PICKLE

Pickle is a sand-salt mixture that is available for free at certain locations. It is for individual use on sidewalks during the winter to help breakdown snow and ice, making it easier for you to comply with the bylaw regulating snow and ice removal.

This is a free service but please note:

- Supply is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and there's no guarantee any is available when you arrive.

- Limit your haul to one container per visit.

- Bring your own container (under 25kg) and shovel.

- This is for individual use only, not for contractors.

Sandbox Locations:

Temple - Fire station #22 (7199 Temple Dr NE)

Crossroads area - Road Maintenance District 8 (840 32 Ave Connector NE)
