2023-2026 Service Plans and Budgets

The City creates service plans and budgets every four years to focus on services that are most important to Calgarians. Share your thoughts on Equity and Inclusion, Fiscal Responsibility, Cost Reduction, Community Growth and Changes, Social Wellbeing, and more. 

RouteAhead 10-Year Update

Calgary Transit is working on the RouteAhead Plan to guide transit service delivery over the next 30 years. Share your feedbacks with the City about Calgary Transit from customer service to transit network. 

User Fees and Subsidies Policy Review 

The City's User Fees and Subsidies Policy was last reviewed in 2008 and amended in 2012. It is now under review and looking for your feedbacks on the proposed principles: Full Cost, Benefit, Resource Efficiency, and Ability to Pay.

Rethinking 8 Street SW

Through a request for proposal (RFP) process The City is looking for a team to spark creativity and innovation in public realm design; highlights the street’s importance as a potential green network, a pedestrian-focused space, and a neighbourhood hub in Calgary’s Downtown West and Beltline.

Shouldice Seasonal Dome

The dome is undergoing its initial inflation until the beginning of October; and will be up annually from approx. Nov. to May to allow spots including flag football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and more to be played year-round. 

12 St. NE Mobility Improvements

This project will provide a wider sidewalk for walking and wheeling, improved pedestrian crossings, and a better connection within the pathway and bikeway network. Construction is anticipated to be completed by late 2022.

Upcoming closures on Bowness Road

To facilitate remaining roadway milling and paving of Bowness Road (between Shaganappi Trail and 41 Street N.W.) and the Bowness Road to eastbound 16 Avenue loop ramp, the following closures will be required for approximately four days in mid-September.

  • Eastbound traffic on Bowness Road: All eastbound traffic along Bowness Road will be detoured to 16 Avenue N.W. at 43 Street N.W. Detoured traffic can connect to eastbound Bowness Road via the Bowness Road off-ramp on 16 Avenue N.W.
  • Westbound traffic on Bowness Road: One lane will remain open for westbound traffic on Bowness Road N.W. from Shaganappi Trail to 43 Street N.W.

  • Bowness Road

  • Northbound Bowness Road to westbound 16 Ave. loop ramp

Overdoes Prevention Site [OPS] at The Drop-In & Rehab Centre [DI]

A change in plans regarding the focus of the constituent forum due to the Government of Alberta’s announcement today that they and the Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society have mutually decided against implementing an Overdose Prevention Site (OPS). Through the community consultation process, it is the understanding of both parties that other types of interventions are a better fit for the DI and more information can be found at https://calgarydropin.ca/recovery/.


To report concerns of active encampments on public property, please fill out a service request and provide the exact location with the goal of social outreach. For active encampments on private property, please contact Calgary Police Services at (403)266-1234.

Funding Opportunities

 

Building Safer Communities Fund [BSCF]

This is to further develop and enhance community-based prevention and intervention programs specifically for young people, to reduce gun and gang violence in Calgary.


Applications will be accepted until Sept 19, 2022 at 11:39pm MST.

Alberta Crime Prevention Grant

This grant focuses on direct delivery of services or supports for crime prevention or community safety and well being. 


The grant application deadline is Sept 30, 2022.

Digital Service Squad

To support small business in adopting new technologies and embrace digital marketing, City's 1-on-1 support from the Digital Service Squad is open throughout 2022.
